Weatherizing your home aims to improve household resiliency by sealing drafts in your home to protect the interior from outside conditions such as cold, wind, rain, and sunlight. By repairing and enhancing the structure of your home, you prevent the loss of warm and cool air, saving you money on energy bills, increasing your comfort, and making your home safer.

Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas
Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide critical home repair and modifications to eligible homeowners at no cost through various programs and funding sources. Home repairs include modifications in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, foundation problems, ramp/rail installment, grab bars, door widening, exterior sliding replacement, painting, and landscaping.
Qualifications/Requirements
Be part of one or more of these groups:
-Be a senior aged 60 or older
-Be an honorably discharged veteran or surviving spouse of an honorably discharged veteran
-Be disabled and received SSDI or have a physician's statement
-Be a family with dependent children residing in the home
AND meet all these qualifications:
-Be living on a very low income according to HUD guidelines
-Own a single-family home with no liens on the property
-Live in the home
-Be current with real estate taxes
-Commit to joining our volunteers to the best of your ability as we work on your home
Dallas Water Utilities – Minor Plumbing Repair Progam
The minor plumbing repair program offers assistance with minor plumbing problems and fixtures that may cause water waste and higher water bills to qualifying customers with minor fresh water leaks.
Qualifications/Requirements
-Must be a Dallas Water Utilities customer
-Low-income homeowners, as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development income guidelines
-Homeowners who reside on the property
Dallas Area Agency on Aging
Minor home repair services to enhance energy efficiency, structural integrity or the health and safety of the resident.
Qualifications/Requirements
-Must be 60 or older, or a caregiver of a person 60 or older with Alzheimer's
-Or 55 or older and raising a child younger than 18 years of age
Oncor Low-Income Weatherization
Program offers cash incentives for low-income households for weatherization upgrades like insulation, caulking, and weatherstripping. Program runs from January to November or until funds are depleted.
Qualifications/Requirements
-Be an Oncor customer
-Residential customers have an annual household income at or below 200% above federal poverty
City of Dallas Home Improvement and Preservation Program (HIPP) - Home Reconstruction Program
Housing Reconstruction Program provides the homeowner with a new home on their current property and assistance is provided in the form of a loan. Homeowners do not apply for the Reconstruction Program, instead they will be referred if the homeowner applies for the Rehab Program and, after inspection, the City determines that the necessary home repairs exceed the limits of the Rehab Program. The homeowner must certify annually the home is not for sale and is their primary residence until the loan is repaid to the City in full.
Qualifications/Requirements
-This program is by referral from City staff only and has a maximum allowable funding level of $160,000.
City of Dallas Home Improvement and Preservation Program (HIPP) - Major Home Rehabilitation Program
Major Rehabilitation Program: The level of assistance for the Rehabilitation Program is limited to the amount required to address the rehabilitation work scope as defined by the city and is available to low- and moderate-income homeowners. This involves a low-cost, forgivable loan to the homeowner that will not exceed the maximum allowable funding level of $73,170.
Qualifications/Requirements
-Homeowner must have clear title to the property and have owned the home for at least six(6) months before applying.
-The property must be the homeowner's primary residence.
-The homeowner must not be delinquent in the payment of property taxes or have an active, non-delinquent payment plan with the county tax office.
-The home must be located within city limits of Dallas, TX.
-The homeownder must demonstrate they can obtain standard property insurance satisfactory to the City and will maintain for the term of the loan.
-Priority for all programs will be given to homeowners who have never participated in a City home repair program. Homes that have been reconstructed by the City will not be eligible for further assistance.
Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)/ Low Income Household Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
The purpose of the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) is to assist low-income households, particularly those with the lowest incomes, that pay a high proportion of household income for energy, primarily in meeting their immediate home energy needs. CEAP services include: energy education, utility payment assistance, repair of existing heating and cooling units, and crisis-related purchase of air conditioning units.
Qualifications/Requirements
-Priority is given to households with elderly/disabled residents and households with children that are 5 years and younger.
-Eligibility is also based on the past 30-day income received before the date of application.
-Eligibile households must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty guideline limit.
DCHHS Weatherization Assistance Program
The purpose of this program is to reduce household energy usage, address health and safety needs, and offer minor home repairs by installing approved weatherization materials.
Qualifications/Requirements
Households with a combined gross income at or below 200% of federal poverty level
None available currently. Please check back as we’ll continue to add programs and resources on an ongoing basis.
Insulation
EnergyStar® Tax Credits are available for primary residences.
Tax credit for 10% of the cost, up to $500 (Not including installation).
Qualifications/Requirements
Typical bulk insulation products can qualify, such as batts, rolls, blow-in fibers, rigid boards, expanding spray, and pour-in-place.
Products that air seal can also qualify, as long as they come with a Manufacturers Certification Statement including weather stripping, spray foam in a can, caulk designed to air seal, and house wrap.
Roofs (Metal & Asphalt)
This tax credit is for EnergyStar® certified metal and asphalt roofs with pigmented coatings or cooling granules designed to reduce heat gain. Certified roof products reflect more of the sun's rays, which can lower roof surface temperature by up to 100F, decreasing the amount of heat transferred into your home.
Tax credit amount: 10% of the cost, up to $500 (Not including installation).
Qualifications/Requirements
Metal roofs with appropriate pigmented coatings and asphalt roofs with appropriate cooling granules that also meet EnergyStar® requirements.
Windows, Doors, and Skylights
Windows, doors and skylights that earn the EnergyStar® certification save energy, improve comfort and help protect the environment.
Tax credit amount: 10% of the cost up to $500, but windows are capped at $200 (Not including installation).
Qualifications/Requirements
Must be EnergyStar® certified.
You do not have to replace all the windows/doors/skylights in your home to qualify. And it doesn't need to be a replacement either. Installing a new window where there wasn't one previously (like in an addition) qualifies.
Programa de Asistencia para Climatización de DCHHS
El objetivo de este programa es reducir el consumo de energía de los hogares, abordar las necesidades de salud y seguridad y ofrecer pequeñas reparaciones en la casa mediante la instalación de materiales de climatización que estén aprobados.
Requisitos
Hogares con ingresos familiares antes de impuestos y otras deducciones, igual o inferior al 200% del nivel federal de pobreza.
Programa Integral de Asistencia Energética (CEAP)/Programa de Asistencia Energética para Hogares de Bajos Ingresos (LIHEAP)
El objetivo del Programa Integral de Asistencia Energética (CEAP) es ayudar a los hogares de bajos ingresos, en particular a los que destinan una elevada proporción de sus ingresos familiares para el pago de energía, principalmente para satisfacer sus necesidades energéticas domésticas inmediatas. Los servicios del CEAP incluyen: educación energética, ayuda para el pago de los servicios públicos, reparación de las unidades de calefacción y aire acondicionado existentes y, compra de unidades de aire acondicionado en caso de crisis.
Requisitos
-Se da prioridad a los hogares con residentes adultos mayores/con discapacidad y hogares con niños de 5 años o menos.
-La elegibilidad también se basa en los ingresos de los últimos 30 días recibidos antes de la fecha de solicitud.
-Los hogares elegibles deben estar en un nivel federal de pobreza igual o inferior al 150%.
Programa de Mejora y Preservación de Casas de la Ciudad de Dallas (HIPP) Programa Principal de Rehabilitación de Casas
Programa Principal de Rehabilitación: El nivel de asistencia para el Programa de Rehabilitación se limita al monto necesario para cubrir el alcance del trabajo de restauración de la casa según lo definido por la Ciudad y está disponible para propietarios con ingresos bajos y moderados. Se trata de un préstamo a bajo costo y condonable para el propietario de la casa que no excederá el nivel máximo de financiación permitido de $73,170.
Requisitos
-El propietario debe tener un título de propiedad libre de impuestos y haber sido propietario de la casa durante al menos seis (6) meses antes de presentar la solicitud.
-La propiedad debe ser la residencia principal del propietario.
-El propietario no debe tener pagos de impuestos retrasados sobre la propiedad o tener un plan de pago activo sin retraso con la oficina de impuestos del Condado.
-La casa debe estar ubicada dentro de los límites de la ciudad de Dallas,Texas.
-El propietario debe demostrar que puede obtener un seguro de propiedad estándar satisfactorio para la Ciudad y que lo mantendrá durante el plazo del préstamo.

El propietario debe certificar anualmente que la casa no está a la venta y que es su residencia principal hasta que el préstamo sea pagado en su totalidad a la Ciudad.
Requisitos
-Este programa se lleva a cabo únicamente por remisión del personal de la Ciudad y tiene un nivel de financiación máximo permitido de $160,000.
Climatización para Casas de Clientes de Oncor de Bajos Ingresos
El programa ofrece incentivos en efectivo para hogares de bajos ingresos para mejoras de climatización tales como aislamiento, sellado de juntas y burletes. El programa funciona de enero a noviembre o hasta que se agoten los fondos.
Requisitos
-Ser cliente de Oncor
-Los clientes residenciales deben tener unos ingresos familiares anuales iguales o inferiores al 200% por encima del nivel federal de pobreza.
Agencia del Área de Dallas sobre el Envejecimiento
Servicios menores de reparación de la casa para mejorar la eficiencia energética, la integridad estructural, la salud y seguridad del residente.
Requisitos

Dallas Water Utilities - Programa de Reparaciones Menores de Plomería
El programa de reparaciones menores de plomería de Dallas Water Utilities, ofrece asistencia de plomería y accesorios para problemas menores que puedan causar desperdicio y facturas de agua más altas a los clientes que cumplan los requisitos y que tengan fugas menores de agua potable.
Requisitos
-Debe ser cliente de Dallas Water Utilities
-Propietarios con ingresos bajos, tal como se definen en las directrices sobre ingresos del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de EE.UU.
-Propietarios que residen en la propiedad
Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas
Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas es una organización sin ánimo de lucro cuya misión es proporcionar reparaciones básicas y modificaciones sin ningún costo en las casas de propietarios que reúnan los requisitos a través de diversos programas y fuentes de financiación. Las reparaciones de la casa incluyen modificaciones en plomería, electricidad, carpintería, problemas de cimientos, instalación de rampas/barandillas, barras de apoyo, ensanchamiento de puertas, sustitución de puertas corredizas exteriores, pintura y jardinería.
Requisitos
Formar parte de uno o más de estos grupos:
-Ser una persona mayor de 60 años
-Ser veterano licenciado con honores o cónyuge superviviente de un veterano licenciado con honores
-Tener discapacidad y haber recibido el SSDI o tener un certificado médico
-Ser una familia con hijos a cargo que residan en el hogar
Y cumplir todos estos requisitos:
-Vivir con ingresos muy bajos según lo estipulado por HUD
-Ser propietario de una casa unifamiliar sin embargos sobre la propiedad
-Vivir en la casa
-Estar al día en el pago de los impuestos de la propiedad
-Comprometerse a unirse a nuestros voluntarios en la medida de sus posibilidades mientras trabajamos en su casa

Aislamiento
La acreditación a impuestos por parte de EnergyStar® está disponible para casas principales.
Acreditación a Impuestos del 10% del costo, hasta $500 (No incluye la instalación)
Requisitos
Los productos tradicionales de aislamiento a granel pueden cumplir los requisitos, como los bloques de fibra aislante, los rollos, las fibras sopladas, las planchas rígidas, el aerosol expansivo y el material vertido in situ.
Los productos que sellan fugas de aire como burletes, espuma en aerosol en lata, masilla diseñada para sellar fugas de aire y envolturas domésticas, también pueden cumplir los requisitos, siempre que vayan acompañados de una declaración de certificación del fabricante.
Tejados (Metálicos y de Asfalto)
Esta acreditación a impuestos es para tejados con certificación EnergyStar® que sean de metal y asfalto con revestimientos pigmentados o gránulos refrigerantes diseñados para reducir la ganancia de calor. Los productos de tejado certificados reflejan mejor los rayos del sol, lo que puede reducir la temperatura de la superficie del tejado hasta 100°F, disminuyendo la cantidad de calor que se transfiere a tu hogar.
Monto de la Acreditación a Impuestos: 10% del costo, hasta $500 (No incluye la instalación).
Requisitos
Tejados metálicos con revestimientos pigmentados adecuados y tejados de asfalto con gránulos refrigerantes apropiados que también cumplan los requisitos EnergyStar®.
Ventanas, Puertas y Claraboyas
Las ventanas, puertas y claraboyas que obtienen el certificado EnergyStar® ahorran energía, mejoran el confort y ayudan a proteger el medio ambiente.
Monto de la Acreditación a Impuestos: 10% del costo hasta $500, pero las ventanas tienen un límite de $200 (No incluye la instalación).
Requisitos
- Deben tener la certificación EnergyStar®.
- No es necesario cambiar todas las ventanas/puertas/claraboyas de la casa para optar a la ayuda. Y tampoco es necesario que sea una sustitución: instalar una ventana nueva donde no había una anteriormente (como en una ampliación) cumple los requisitos.
